Restore or not?
I was wondering what is the general view about restoring watches. I mean, if you have a old valuable watch do you think it is better to leave it alone (see the "Patina" thread) or do you try to restore to a condition closed to the original piece.I am doing these considerations because I always felt that I would not touch an old watch, if it is really valuable I might even doubt whether to do functional repairs or not, but then I looked at this Youtube video of the watchmaker Roger W.
