Diamonds on Rubber Strap Watches....

I've been noticing a trend of Rubber Strap watches having diamonds on the bezel, hour markers, ect....does this seem odd to anyone else? I know the comfort of rubber straps is gaining in popularity, but does it seem like putting diamonds on a bezel (i'm withholding brand and model) is the combination of two extremes? maybe it's my WIS peeve of the day....any thoughts?........

duct was cheap, just wax on a string and I think the only good reviews on this has to be from paid surveyors. My daughter who is 9 played with them for less than 5 minutes and they were coming apart. waste of money!!!
