Roll Call - Vintage Rotary Experts?

My father recently gave me his vintage automatic Rotary. Purchased in Salisbury, Rhodesia (ie Harare, Zimbabwe) in 1947 when he was posted there with the RAF.I can't post photos of it for a few weeks - so the purpose of this post was to see if there are any experts here at WTF that may be able to help me find out more about it. I have purchased this watch and had it a few months now. It has not turned grey. It has a slight mark where I rest my wrist on the table when I type but that is normal wear and tear. I wear it all the time and have had so many compliments. I have just purchased another for my friends daughter after he saw me wearing it.
