Can you over wind the 2500 Co-Axial movement on a winder?

I had my Seamaster Co-Axial 300m Diver on my winder and it was set to 950 TPDI had not worn the watch for a week. When I went to wear it the time was correct but the second hand was starting and stopping. I let the watch sit for a while and then wore it for a few day and it runs the same as it did before. 1 second a day fast. I changed the winder and now it is at 650 TPD. I was really scared I had damaged it. I called the AD where I bought it and he said that there is a safety on the watch that ........
