What's in a name?
As I understand it, in metallurgy stainless steel is defined as an iron-carbon alloy with a minimum of 11.5 wt% chromium content. According to wiki, it is said that stainless steel does not stain, corrode or rust as easily as ordinary steel (it "stains less"), but it is not stain-proof.I do wish it was stain proof since to call it stainless as opposed to stain-less does give the impression that it is relatively stain proof, which it isn't.Why am I having a minor rant?
