Hi All:I am currently discussing the possible purchase of a V series (2008?) Sea Dweller Deep Sea from a sponsor of this forum. I am looking for your collective advice on what you think is a "fair" offer for this timepiece. Modded versus frankenwatch
One thing about horology that confuses me is the difference between a "modded" watch and a "frankenwatch".Both have parts that are not original to the watch, i.e. a different dial, hands or case etc. So why is one apparently acceptable (modded) and the other (frankenwatch) is not?Is it the intent? By that I mean does someone who mods a watch mean it to be just that ( a watch that has been altered from the original) and someone who builds a frankenwatch has the intent to deceive?The difference b........
