How much off retail is good?

I am currently in Hong Kong on business and I have visited a few Omega dealers looking to MAYBE pick up a watch.So far, I am not impressed with the pricing. The most I was able to get was 8% off of retail. Is this a good deal? I thought 20% or more was possible. I want a 300M Seamaster Chronograph 2225.80 and the best I could find was US$2,900. Seems high to me. No?........

Which watch maker gives the most bang for the buck?

I'm speaking of a maker overall, not an individual model. Not the cheapest either, but the most quality for the money.My vote goes to Omega. You can get an SMP or Speedy Date for under $2k.Who's you choice?........
