Help - correct date ring for Omega Seamaster 300 NOS project
I am toying with the idea of buying the parts and have my watchmaker to put it together. I am however concerned about the date ring, I am planning to go for the date version with the 565 movement but the usual date ring, OME5601500N, is convex and therefor not suitable. I wonder what the stock# is for the correct flat date ring? Is the OME5611580 suitable for the 565 movement? Are the numbers white on black background or the other way around? Any pointers where to look for the date ring? Cousins........
Vintage Croton...unusual
Ijust picked up a bunch of vintage watches. I am familiar with all of them except one. It is a Croton automatic. The Face says "Paul Du Pree" I see that in 2008 Crorton made a "Paul Du Pree" watch, but this is from around the 50's. The crystal needs to be replaced, so its hard to see the name, but its there. Does anyone know anything about this watch? I posted this question in the vintage forum at watchuseek but got no replies (kind of weird I thought).ThanksJustin........
