I dropped by one of my AD's today to see if they had a DDII, I was yet to try one on.They did indeed have one and I loved the size but I think I can wait for the DatejustII in stainless I am not going to drop nearly 30grand on a watch 8 to 10 grand maybe.I also tried on a steel white Daytona which they had in the case, probably the same one they had when I was there a few months ago. Newbie Manual Wind 101 Question
As a vintage watch newbie I'd appreciate some advice. I recently received my first manual wind watch being a 1956 Seamaster cal 248 17j. The dealer in the US has told me that it was running, but has no service history.When fully wound it runs, keeping quite accurate time, but stops after about 15hrs. I imagined that a correctly running manual movement should run for at least 24hrs. If so, should I expect a simple service to correct the problem or should it be pulled down completely to get it wor........
