Within the last few weeks there was a discussion here about SOMEONE looking for a semi-matte flat band in grey or black with white stiching and an exposed edge to mimic the original Hamilton band. If anyone knows where that thread was, PLEASE feel free to move my post whereever it belongs. Hamilton Electric Movements: Would you avoid a 500?
I'm looking hard at vintage Electrics, and I understand there are significant differences between the 500, 500A and 505. According to Rene's Rondeau's site, the 505 movement is a definite improvement over the 500 easier to adjust, more reliable and sturdy, etc.Given the small number of artisans who can service these movements (and if you could only own one nice vintage Hamilton Electric), is the difference between the two movements enough to make you avoid buying a 500/A and wait for at 505?Tha........
