Just in: Elgin Case 6818 with unusual dial
When I saw the watch on eBay, I instantly knew the lugs and the case were brassed. Looking at the case, you can see that if was worn daily, the lugs were going to wear. But I've seen that NOS , checker style dial on the bay for years and said that if I found the case, I would pull the trigger.To me, the dial is amazing, with a level of detail more akin to modern guilloche dials, at least IMHO ;) So not only is there a diamond/checkboard effect, the brushed vs. not brushed diamonds give it a t........
