Elgin Flea Market Mystery
When I saw this in a case with other junkers, Casio and the usual lot, I almost didn't notice it. $15.00 and thirty seconds after opening it, I was on my way back to the car. Now come the questions. Were 428 6/0size, 15 jewel movements used in wrist watches?Does this case date back to 1928?Are these the correct hands and dial? I'm fairly certain it has the wrong crystal because any angled light source makes it almost impossible to see the hands.........
Size of Elgin Grade 64? Wrong information on the internet?
Hi,I have an Elgin grade 64 from 1883. It was sold to me as 6s, also in the internet pocket watch database it says size 6. But the watch measures approximately 36,4 mm. So shouldn't this be more size 8? I tried to put the movement in a case, which was sold to me on ebay as size 6. The movement didn't fit. I also have an Elgin grade 45, also listed with size 6 in the database, which is a little smaller.So my question: are the informations on the internet wrong? Or did the sizes change during the ........
