Hello forum. I have recently become infatuated with vintage Hamiltons, since inheriting my Grandfather's 10k gold Parker. I'm looking to acquire another specimen, and of course have turned to eBay, where you're always likely to pay too much. Hamilton overload! There are some great Hamiltons up right now (holy cow, how 'bout those Coronados at $3.5K+++!). I'm trying to relax and do my homework. Purpose of dark tinted crystals?
I have a vintage Tissot manual-wind watch with a sub-second display from the late 40's, early 50's that has a dark tinted crystal over a copper/gold colored dial, with gold hands.In lower light, you can barely read the time! Why? I've seen other vintage Swiss watches with these crystals. But, in particular, mostly Tissot, and Omega!This is one of my fathers well worn work watches, that has seen better days, but still runs great!The crown is well worn, and hard to wind, which I would like to repl........
