When clearance sales aren't really sales

For years now, I've noticed a certain TV shopping channel promotes mega-hyped clearance events. But the watches are being sold at the usual prices, not steeply discounted as they would lead you to believe.For example, a Brand Y watch that sold for $800 when it was being aired on TV is now being sold - again - for $800. In between, the price jumped to $899. But the $800 price always returns when the vendor's show is scheduled.To me, this isn't a clearance sale - or a sale at all. Just more BS. Ha........
