Repair advice: Omega or 3rd party?

I have an Omega Seamaster I bought about five years ago that has stopped running. I called Omega and they said a complete overhaul would run around $400. A Google search informed me that there are 3rd party watch repair companies who apparently will do the same for substantially less. Would appreciate this forum's advice on whether I am better off going with the Omega repair people or the 3rd party companies and, if the latter, which are most reliable.........
