Strap changing question

I want to switch straps on my 164. I tried to this morning but I couldn't dislodge the pins (using the Panerai "tool"). I thought it would be easy, but the pins wouldn't budge. What am I doing wrong? I know it's supposed to be a simple job, but I'm all thumbs so far.TIA:rolleyes:........
