To echo some of the other replies here, "it depends."Certainly if there's a vintage model that's available nowhere else, I'll buy over distance. That's also likely to be a one-time deal, w/ plenty of "buyer beware" stuff salted in for good measure.But my preference is always local. First off, I'd never buy a watch that I hand't tried on, felt, held up to the light, and so forth. Thus, it just feels wrong to me to take advantage of that "value," then hand the watch back to the clerk and head off ........
