I've been picking up spare movements for a while, for parts and such. After painstakingly taking apart and putting back together 2 12s PW movements, I threw caution to the wind and did the same with an 8/0 sized Elgin 554. That one, I screwed up the hairspring trying to get it back between the regulator pins.Of course, these were all broken when I started (balance staffs), and so they still aren't working.Today, I disassembled a nonworking Elgin 770, and used parts from it to fix (kinda) anoth........
