I am generally a Hamilton man by interest but, I have pieces from most all of the high grade American manufacturers in my modest collection. To this point I have only really been missing an Illinois. I acquired a ladies Elgin a while back in a group of watches. I wasn't much interested in it until I happened to look up the movement # and found it was produced in my father's birthyear. Anyone interested in playing wrist watch serial # liar's poker?My father passed three years ago so I thought my step mother might like the watch as a memento. I cleaned everything up. The movement had a broken balance staff so I transplanted a donor. My problem is the donor balance had a tweaked hairspring. So ........
