So basically, I always hear that one reason automatic dive watches are superior to quartz is that that the quartz seals don't work properly after the watch has been opened to change the battery. Automatics, in theory, don't have this problem. Of course we all know that automatics have to be cleaned/regulated from time to time to ensure they work properly. So wouldn't an automatic have this same problem? Or do automatic's seals/water proofing not work the same way? And if I do need my dive watch ........
