Help with Omega 2254 rubber strap

I've a so called original rubber strap for the Seamaster (SMP) watch but when fitted it is loose against the watch case. They are fitting with straight spring bars, as I hear some people use curved (I think for the PO rubber strap though).The rubber strap I've is Omega's serial 98000085.
