water resistant 60m , what does it mean ?

maybe this is a stupid question, i hv learned that WR 30 m , WR 50 m , WR 100 m and so on ,,,there are a lot of website info on these but what about WR 60m ? the reason is, when my son wears his IWC pilot wi bracellet to his gym and went to showers with it and he told me to relax as that should be okay ( what ?? are we so sure about this ? ) im not sure whether he wears it during his swimming training ,,,but i really appreciate if anybody can shed me a light ? thanking you in advance..o btw,........
