Citizen 3100 Perpertual calender

Hi.My first post. I have bought a Citizen 3100 with a perpetual calender. But it is impossible to set the calender. Neither the manual that came with the watch nor the instructions at Citizens website give the right instructions. Anybody know how to set this watch? It has a black face with a leather band. The crown is NOT a screw down crown as the manual says.........

I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of this watch. It's better--much, much better--than the pictures posted on the website would lead you to believe. That's not to say the watch is without flaws. Given the price, I'd expect the buckle to be a little more fashion forward (e.g., deployment type clasp).
