Seamaster versions

Hi Folks, settling on getting a Seamaster again (first one in 2000, gifted to Son some years ago and still in great shape) and I want the classic blue wave 41mm waveface 2220.80.00. I did notice that there is also another smooth blue faced 41mm 212.30.41.20.03.001. The later one is slightly more expensive, but other than this I don't see any difference other than the face. I prefer the original with white date and wave so I'm going down this route, but have I missed anything?........
