I'm trying to match the serial number to the production date but I'm confused about where the serial number is marked. Family lore says this watch was purchased in 1939 or 1940.I was trying to find a simlar example but I haven't seen one yet wit........

Snagged this Mate from eBay Friday evening for $160. There are two small spots of wear on the bezel and it could use a new crystal. The first order of business will be to apply black enamel to the bezel and midcase engravings. The seller indicated that the dial has been refinished sometime in the past, so I won't have any qualms about sending it and the hands to ID. I believe it should be two-tone (Greg/Rick?). Then off to the watch doctor for a fresh service even though it's currently runn........
