First IWC - Portuguese Auto versus Portofino?
Hey all,I'm about to buy my first IWC (in fact, my first real watch), and I'm kind of torn between the Portuguese Automatic and the Portofino Vintage. I found photos online of exactly the two that I looked at this afternoon at the IWC store in Beverly Hills (see attached).Can anyone offer any advice about these two watches? I'm an attorney, so looking for something to wear with suits, but also to wear on weekends or daily with jeans, etc. Love both designs, and get that the Portofino is a lit........
Storm King VII Running 10 min / hour fast!
So I just got this watch and wound it for the first time and it's running grossly fast (10 minutes per hour). I'm a newbie and therefore don't fully understand the workings of mechanical watches, but I've read some possibilities like the watch being "magnetized" or rattled during shipping and can be knocked back into place.Do I need to see a watchmaker or is there an easy way to diagnose this and solve it myself? I do want to learn to tinker with these myself...Thanks in advance.Adam........
