I've noticed a lot of Speedies on auction and sale sites being stained. As a matter of fact....my 1974/75 Speedy has a stained dial. Is this something to do with the paint? It being a matt dial? Sun? Anyone know?........

Sadly, even though the design was a great idea for a watch, the manufacturer used a scale that was too large. Had it been slightly er it would have been a tasteful, inexpensive gift.
