My first Glycine
Yesterday I got my first Glycine, a Combat Sub quartz. I was attracted to the watch by the clean looks and the size (40mm case 9mm thick). It came on the factory rubber strap which I removed. I have had the watch on a black ZULU and a regimental red ZULU. Now I have it on a nice soft black Di-Modell leather strap with deployant clasp. A fun little project I just finished putting together!
I picked up this minerva set of chronograph movement, dial, hands, crown and stem a while back with the thought of making this come to life.I had this nice little burl wood lathed box made and some brass finishings, along with a long tube for activating the chronograph since this would be a difficult task given the distance between crown and movement. I also had the stem elongated for this reason.Here is how it turned out along with a rough step by step........
