Revue Thommen question (probably not brand specific)

I just received a Revue Thommen Heritage, black sunburst-like dial. From certain angles, it looks wer-ink glossy with slight, extremely uniform depressions around the applied markers, date window, logo, and center. From most angles, you see the sunburst effect. I would post photos, but my digital camera is unavailable. The depressions are very slight and seem perfectly uniform. Thoughts about the dial material/application of markers, etc.?........
