Servicing vintage Omegas?
Some of you may recall my post about a gold Omega Chronograph (Cal 320) that was handed down to me by my Dad. It wasn't working and I gave it for repairs at the Omega service center here. Unfortunately, I get a call from them yesterday, informing me that the movement had rusted and they couldn't procure the spares and so would not be able to repair the watch Now I'm so depressed. Who has stories to share on omega Cellini watches?
My comfort zone is w/ the Sports models, particularly the Submariner and Explorer lines. But I've seen a couple of 5115 models recently that really seem to be calling to me!Who has experience w/ this line? What do you think? If appropriate, how do they "compare" to others in the omega line up, including popularity over time? Would it be safe to think of these as the latest incarnation of the Precision line? Is it likely the model 5115 in particular is gonna be around for a while (I don't see it ........
