Omega Speedmaster 3570.50.00 won't wind correctly

I have a manual wind speedmaster moon watch I bought in 2010. There is a problem with winding it. It will not stop when winding and only runs for about 16 hrs. I took it to a local jewelry and they sent it off to Omega for service/repair. The estimate was at $1500, needless to say I don't have that kind of cash at the moment to spend on it. I have two questions. 1. Is it ok to continue to wear it and just wind it every day? 2. Is it possible or a good idea to find someone else who may be able to........
