Sea-Dweller dial size

I've recently read a couple of threads comparing the Sea-Dweller with the Submariners and was suprised to find that the dial on the Sea-Dweller either is smaller or appears smaller than the dial on the Submariner. Is this true, is this a measured difference?? I assume the outside case diameters are similar, I know the height of the case is higher with the SD so why the smaller dial, if that is the case?
