Anyone know this Gruen movement.

I know about the 335 and 335ss made in Cincinnati but this movement looks a little freakish. The 21 jewels has beem stamped over to make it 23. It says 23 jewels on the dial.The case is stamped Gruen 335.The only stranger thing I've seen is this Hamilton 987a modified with an added cap jewel.Joel........
