Diamond Cap Jewels on High Grade Movements
Diamond cap jewels on high grade movements from the turn of the century, real diamonds or just for show fakes? This picture is of a 21 jewel Riverside Maximus from about 1900, it has two diamond cap jewels. One above the balance wheel and one more just above the escapement wheel. I don't have anything powerful enough to get a real close look at these to make a good decision. I scored two movements with these jewels this week, one is from 1899 and the other is from 1900. Just want to know for fut........
Restoring an old Oris
Hello,I dont own an Oris...but my wife have an old Oris mechanical. The acrylic cystal bears the scratches of time and it needs a new strap. I am just fascinated with this very small mechnical watch. Will post a picture of it here if I can get it restored. :)........
