I couldn't avoid the temptation to make a direct comparison between two great watches, having worn my YG/SS Datejust II for a week now and owning a YG/SS Datejust before. I hope that I would not get the ire of the traditionalists who continue to prefer the 36mm to the new 41mm, and to the few who hold the view that the ideal dresswatch size is something in between.It started when I went to visit the omega boutique here in Manila and first saw it among the DJs, Subs, GMTs, etc. My first impressio........

Below is a picture of a 1923 Hamilton with the seconds bit at 9. Hamilton sold this as a watch for women. I have searched through the Hamilton historical material to discover if Hamilton U.S. ever made a man's watch with the seconds bit at 9. The Hamilton men's watch movements were always based on the hunter configuration (983, 985) or were specifically made with the seconds bit at 6 (981). The exception, of course, is the 986 movement, where the bit, when used, would have created a winder ........
