Help with Movado! Unique Vintage Men's Museum Watch

We received this vintage Men's Movado Museum Watch from a customer to sell on our site. It was a hand-me-down from his father, and he does not wear watches and has no use for it. He had it appraised for insurance purposes at around $1700 but does not know the actual retail value of the watch. Does anyone know anything about this particular watch or the Movado Museum Watches in general? We are trying to determine a fair price to sell the watch and can find very little information about this style........

The watch came in the mail today -- I'm giving it to my son tomorrow on his birthday. It is a watch -- very good-looking -- looks like a very expensive timepiece.

IWC IWC 39978, Really good!

The only negative comment I can make isI had expected the Seeker (the minute hand) to be easier to distinguish. It should have been in color. Hard to recognize at first.
