question about retrograde day indicator

Hi,My new seiko premier watch has a retrograde day indicator and date function. The date function (1-31) changes at exactly 12am but the day indicator (mon-sun) does not. Is this normal? Has anyone else noticed this with their watches with day and date functions?........
