Adding a link to myHamilton

I have a Hamilton Khaki King with the steel bracelet. I need to add a link and it seems I saw somewhere that the Hammie bracelet is different and can be a pain to change the links. I have a pin removing tool I could use. I have adjusted Seiko Monster links before. I am wondering should I try doing it myself or just wait and take it to my AD?........
