I was wondering what is the general view about restoring watches. I mean, if you have a old valuable watch do you think it is better to leave it alone (see the "Patina" thread) or do you try to restore to a condition closed to the original piece.I am doing these considerations because I always felt that I would not touch an old watch, if it is really valuable I might even doubt whether to do functional repairs or not, but then I looked at this Youtube video of the watchmaker Roger W. Panerai PAM00369, Really good!

Did not look as good in person. The gold around the face of the watch was very thin and not expensive looking. The purple bow was pretty and unusual, but did not think this was a good value.

LOVE this watch:) My daughter (20 yrs old) saw it and said, Mom, I like that watch. That says it all!! Unfortunately, I have a tiny wrist so I may have to send back. Even with all the links out, still too . Bummer!! Very classy!
