Break in period for a new mechanical?

Is there such a thing as a break in period on a new watch? As in should you give it several months/a couple of years to settle in before having it regulated. Or have it serviced after the first year and then move into a 3-4 year service schedule after that?........

I got the black and I'm glad I did. I already had the Chinois Earrings that match. Well made and defintely worth the sale price. The dial is very easy for me to see. I'm 54. Try it.
