I have inherited my grandfather's wonderful NS Watch from the 70's . The problem is that it was designed for a mercury battery and that is of course not going to be very fruitful. So 2 questions,1st : I put in a 1.5 volt cell out of ignorance and it of course didn't work. Is it totally fried?2nd : I have seen a lot of information on mercury battery work arounds that end up lasting only a week or two. I was wondering if someone had come up with a better solution then changing the battery every we........
