should the bezel click on an old GMT?

I have a GMT from the 80's that I just had serviced. Should the 24 hr bezel have click indents like the Sub does? I think the watchmaker forgot to install the spring but I can't remember if this watch worked that way before the service. Thanks, Steve Greer........
