Timex Marlin? Mercury?

Just got this guy for $10. It runs fine and the dial is pretty clean. Does anyone know is this a Marlin? Or, a Mercury? Something else?I know it's 1950s/60s due to the "waterproof" designation.Also, does anyone know how this type back is removed? Is it meant to be turned/unscrewed via the 4 slots?Or pried off?Thanks!........

Anyone notice the watch mistake in the movie American Hustle?

My son and I watch the movie American Hustle yesterday and I spotted a fairly big production blunder. The movie was set in the late seventies to early 1980's and as most films do, great attention to detail was made for the characters, sets, and clothing to appear to be period correct. Christian Bale's character wore a yellow gold omega Day-Date which looked reasonably period correct - they didn't show any real close ups of it, but there was nothing glaringly incorrect that I could see. Howeve........

U Boat 2084, Really good!

Very fine watch (as are all Seikos). Keeps great time and no battery to run down. The compass function is very cumbersome and not very accurate, but all the other functions are great!
