How long can you delay a service for your watch?
I have read some stories of people having their watches without service and running smooth for 10 years.. 15 years...Does it have to be every 5 years.. right on time.. or do you guys do it every 7, or 10 years.??I have done mine every 5 years.. and in the long run, it is not that expensive but I was wondering where the 5 year service interval came out.. just from service center experience about the wear on the mechanical parts, oils etc..?Why is it not 3 or 8 years?........
HELP with determining value of watch?
Hello all, I recently purchased a watch that is broken and am hoping to repair. It's a wind up watch. When I went in to get it repaired, the jeweler said that it will cost at least $200 to inspect the watch and who knows how much more it'll be to fix it. He then said that if the watch is repaired that it would be worth $2000? Sounds kinda strange since I bought the watch for $20 at an antique shop. I just thought it looked beautiful. Anyway, will anyone help me determine the value of the watch a........
