Omega newbie...a few questions

Hey all, former Tag 2000 Quartz owner looking to upgrade to the SMP 2254.50and I have a few questions:1.) Is the 2254.50 really that much better of a timepiece than the new Aquaracer Auto? I'm looking for my first automatic diver "keeper piece" until I can afford my grail (omega Sub).2.) How easy is it to change the bracelet to the rubber strap? any opinion on portofino 356501 ?

I have never owned any IWC watch before, and yesterday i was impressed by the appearance of one of their collections at the IWC AD in downtown area ,the portofino 356501, its a very clean silver dial dress watch with 40mm dial and leather strap. Anybody has any opinion on this model ? I know its probably the lowest class of the IWC collections ( maybe the cheapest) but any opinion or recommendations are very welcome...thanking in advance...........
