I have looked at thousands of Speedmaster images. Saw only one with same dial and it was a special totally solid gold including Omega band. Not sure if Omega ever did a solid gold dial? Also have not yet seen another Speedmaster with the gold bits like this. I guess the 46J 1140 mvnt. was usually gold plated?Update 7/06: pushers and crown plated. Dial partial plated. Little band links and bezel solid 18k. Found identical one for sale in U.K. $2700.........
I was just watching a re-run of All in the Family
The episode is called "The Hot Watch" and in it Archie buys a $300 Omega from a friend for $25. Except the "Omega" is not an Omega, but rather an "Onega", which his watchmaker points out when the watch is taken in to be fixed after it dies on Archie. And before that the watchmaker also tells Archie it will cost him $21 to fix his $8 Onega. Funny episode. -Bond........
