NOS mainsprings okay to use today?
Hello all, novice watch tinkerer here.I'm servicing my grandfather's old Hamilton Lester (982 movement) and I'd like to replace the mainspring.My research shows that the 982 used a 14/0 size mainspring.I see several old mainsprings for sale in various places....just wondering if a more modern alloy spring is available in this size, and would that be a better route to take?I appreciate any help or tips you may wish to share.Thank you,Greg........
