How to polish vintage gold and gold filled watches...
Many people on the forum have asked me how I polish watches so I wrote this up. When looking to purchase a watch that you have an interest in to cleaning-up or restoring make sure you select one that does not have any case brassing showing. Case brassing is when the gold plate is so worn-down that the case filling is exposed. Even though the filling has gold within it you will not match the existing plating on the outside of the case no mattering how much polishing you will do.WARNING........
