Illinois Pocketwatch Project Completed
I purchased this Illinois pocketwatch because I liked the way it looked and it was in dire need of care that it was unlikely to get if I had not purchased it. Between my purchase price and the cost of repairs I am certain I have far more into it than it is worth, but I am satisfied to know it is now a useful part of society. Interestingly, I have never had a watch, of any kind, that ticks as loud as this one does. Wow! It needed a new balance staff and a replacement jewel, was disassembled, ........

I'm wearing my Russian mechanical (handwind) chrono tonight.I actually prefer the handwind chrono to the standard Valjoux 7750. Slimmer and somehow more satisfying to wear.So talk to me, guys.What hand-wound chronos do you recommend?Thanks in advance for the pointers.........
