5001 accuracy

I own a Portuguese 7 day automatic. I've noticed that as power reserve winds down, the watch surges forward as much as 1-2 minutes (!) compared with 6-7 days ago. Could anyone help to shed some light on this? Did anybody have similar experience with their own 5001? Thank you.........

It's a MIracle, My Ole Waltham has Come Back to Life ......A Theory as to Why ....

Some of you may remember this sweet Waltham , 15 jewels and it's large ! .....( and if anyone can tell me what era it was made in I would greatly appreciate it) ......I'm thinking late teens, early 20s ? ......Anyway, it was listed as being running, but when I got it .....it wouldn't .....I have been carrying it around in my purse ( in a plastic bag ....) and took it out to show a friend and while I was telling her that it didn't run, I was idly turning the crown ....egad ! the crown turned !........
